Longshan Temple and Taipei 101

Previously:
Modern Toilet Restaurant, Ximen

We bought the metro day pass for 150TWD, very convenient and worth it.  The metro is very decent, less complicated than Tokyo metro yet cover most of the places (tourist destinations).  Today, we visited Longshan temple, SunYat Sen Memorial Hall, Taipei 101, and Ning Xia night market.

Modern Toilet Restaurant, Ximen

Hotel Midtown Richardson, Taipei

In that evening, after drop our luggages, we cluelessly strolled around the Ximending city, searching the one restaurant that I would like to visit (vow to visit whenever I'm here), of course this famous Modern Toilet Restaurant.  However, we innocently forgot to save the map and their address.  Around an hour had gone, still no sign of that restaurant.  By the time we nearly gave up, I coincidentally turned my head to the right, there was a small room with shinning toilet bowls that caught my eyes.  It doesn't look like a restaurant but when I read the sign, "Modern Toilet".  I shout with delighted, 'This is the one, This definitely is."  We rushed climbing up to the second floor.  There were a few waitresses and nearly all the tables were occupied but then one of the nice waitress said that on the third and fourth floor still have lots of tables available, wherever we like to sit on.  So we went straight up to the third floor.

We choose the ordinary one with a fancy toilet bowl seat.  And in front of us got this sink with hmmmm fake "poop" in it.  For some people (like my husband before he went there), he feels yucks and no appetite when seeing this thing while eating.  For me, I don't give a s***.  But once we're there, my hubby completely forgot yet quite amazed with the ambience and the food in front of him.

By the way why this restaurant is so famous and become the talk of the town?  What the hype about this place?  Food.. Nope!!  I mean it wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either.  I won't personally come back here just because of the taste of food.  So what then?  Serving dish... Tick!!  Decoration.. Tick!!  Idea..  Thumbs up!!  I honestly do not know why but having dinner here, it just makes me happy.

If you see this on the street level, means you are in the right place.  The restaurant is actually located on the second floor and above.

Last Day In Japan: Santa Monica Crepes And Grilled Beef Tounge

Previously:
Japan Day 12: Kawagoe

What not to be missed while we were in Harajuku, is of course their famous yummy crepes.  When people are arguing about which one is the most delicious or which is better than the others.  Honestly for me, as I had tried crepes from three different stalls without following people opinions, I found that they are equally good.  If you guys have a doubt to which you should choose, go with your heart and don't get confused from bloggers.  I believe, if they are not good, the stall won't be there or won't last that long.  So give them a chance!!

I prefer a hot crepes over the one with a fancy ice cream on it.  My cream cheese crepe was the best, melted cheese on the hot soft crepe, what could possibly go wrong?

For our lunch, we randomly picked this restaurant that located on the upper level of Shinjuku station, right at the end on the corner.  We didn't remember the name of the restaurant, because at first we just wanted to have some beef meal.  Didn't realize, in here they are selling only beef tounge.  I'm ok with beef tounge but not so into it, however it turns out to be one of the best meal while we were in Tokyo.  Super delicious and the tounge itself is tender yet they still keep a little chewy texture of the tounge which is pretty good for me.  Simple meal yet delightful.

Hotel Midtown Richardson, Taipei

On board with this V air, Taiwanese low cost airline, is a satisfied experience itself.  The journey took about 3 hours and half from Bangkok to Taipei.  For a budget airline, the seat is comfortable with (I wouldn't say huge but more than adequate) spacious leg room.  Arriving the place safely and not tired.  With taxi, we then headed to our hotel, right in the middle of Ximen, busy bustling area.

The hotel looks very modern and minimalist yet functional.  The room is so big, bigger than what we thought and they even gave us the double queen beds.  And especially love their shower, the water came out like a fire hose.  Very

Japan Day 12: Kawagoe

Previously:
Japan Day 11: Owakudani And Yunessun, Hakone

Kawagoe is a small town in the northwest of Tokyo.  What so special about this town is that because this town is reminisced us with an old town feeling from the Edo Period and allow us to imagine the streets from past centuries as their government retains the buildings and ambience of the past.  In its main street is lined with its old clay-walled warehouses and merchant homes (called kurazukuri), Candy Alley and Kitain Temple.

Kawagoe is located only about 30 minutes away from Tokyo by train, therefore made them suitable for a day trip destination.
