Europe Part 6: One Of The Best German Food In Paris

Previously:
Europe Part 5: Breakfast at Paris-style Cafe and Musee Du Lourve

In that evening, we continued our trip around The Lourve wandering for some dinner.  And we spotted this German restaurant around the corner (my apologies, I couldn't recall the name of the restaurant).  It sounds good to us, we sat down and ordered the food while we were starving.  At first we thought that the food portion may not be that big just like the others we had before.  Therefore, we went over board in ordering the food or maybe just to overwhelmed with their range of food.  When those food are served in front of us, we couldn't believe our eyes.  What we saw was all these gigantic meals filled up our table.  They are all good, taste amazing, we nearly managed to scrap them all though.  That pork was flavoursome, onion soup was also very hearty, sausages were enjoyable and the winner from all would be the mashed potato, it was very silky smooth, right texture and right flavour.  I could just have it on its own.

I actually want to recommend this place to anyone who'll be around there.  However, unfortunately I could not remember the name of this restaurant nor the address.  But what I'm sure is it's located not too far from Lourve, just probably about 10 minutes walk and right in the corner of so many international restaurant next to it.

We had our breakfast at one of the cafe near Bir Hakeim metro station early in the morning before we headed to Musee Du Lourve.  As usual, I went for their classic dishes like chocolate croissant and croque madame.

Once we arrived at Musee Du Lourve, we look for the special entry access (only for disabled people or people with prams). Luckily, we came with young kids and stroller, so we didn't need to join the long queue to enter the building skipping about hour or more time wasted.  Just enter through the special way for people who needed assistant and going down with lift as well.  I feel pity for those who need to queue at the outside and again when they buy the ticket.  The ticket costs 12 Euro for an adult.  Then you can make your own way enjoying their arts.  I believe, it could take a few days to see all of the statues and galleries as the place is so so massive.  However, we only visit some of what we think important (no offence) as we only have a few hours there.

Europe Part 3: Arc De Triomphe and Champs-Elysees

After fully recharge our power, we then continue walking back towards our hotel passing a few interesting places, like Hotel Invalides, some great old architecture buildings and not forget to grab some Parisian snacks along the way.

This cafe is located right next to the Bir Hakeim metro station (on the way back to our hotel).  Their food were good and homey.  We also did try their steak tartare, but no photo of it here.  And that actually the best from all.

Europe Part 2: Eiffel Tower and Nearby

Today, we start the day fresh and we are ready heading up to one of the most busiest street in Paris called Avenue Des Champs-Elysees.  First of all, from the hotel we walk to Bir Hakeim metro station and bought the day pass (6.80 Euro covered for mobilis zone 1 - 2).  From there me made our way to Arc De Triomphe stop.

Arc de Triomphe

Not only branded stuffs that you can get from here, this avenue lays heaps of cafes and restaurants as well.  Some of them are pretty tacky and pricey as this area is highly packed with tourists, however it is at least good to try one of them though.

Escargots de "la butte" 12 Euro (6 pcs)

Foie Gras 22 Euro

Duck Confit

Creme Brulee

Good food, nice ambiance, clean place, slightly pricey but what are we damning about, this is Champs-Elysees for God shake, we hardly can find any cheaper than this for a nice cafe.  However, the service wasn't up to standard, enough waiters were standing by in front of the door but they are not attentive to the customers who were actually inside the restaurant.
