Flew out from Orly airport to Nice, the capital city of French Riviera.  To get some sun and Mediterranean weather.  We stayed two nights at Mercure Hotel, very great location right opposite the promenade.  So once we landed on that afternoon, we walked along promenade admiring the works of lots of artists and museums then fulfilling our tummy and eyes around the vibrant night market.  Lastly, we ended the trip on that day watching song and fountain while walking back home.

Europe Part 9: Belgian Waffles And Fries

While you were in Brussels, of course what else not to be missed if it's not their famous waffles, fries and chocolates.  There are a few stalls selling waffles especially around the Grand Place, but I just picked the busiest and the longest queue just hoping it would be the best one.  The waffle itself costs as cheap as 1 euro.  However, they will charge extra for an ice cream and fruits.  For me, belgian waffle is a little different from any waffle out there.  I would say better actually, a bit harder and dryer though and the skin much crispier with I guess they kinda sprinkle sugar on the outside.  1.50 Euro for extra ice cream, but they put a big dollop of it and generous sauce and strawberry on top.  It was just yumm...

Their fried chicken and fries was also quite good.  I mean fried chickens were crispy, flavoursome and pretty common so what can go wrong with a fried chicken, right?  But fries hmmmm.. pretty average, or probably just me as I still prefer the slim one over the big fat chunk fries.

Europe Part 6: One Of The Best German Food In Paris

In that evening, we continued our trip around The Lourve wandering for some dinner.  And we spotted this German restaurant around the corner (my apologies, I couldn't recall the name of the restaurant).  It sounds good to us, we sat down and ordered the food while we were starving.  At first we thought that the food portion may not be that big just like the others we had before.  Therefore, we went over board in ordering the food or maybe just to overwhelmed with their range of food.  When those food are served in front of us, we couldn't believe our eyes.  What we saw was all these gigantic meals filled up our table.  They are all good, taste amazing, we nearly managed to scrap them all though.  That pork was flavoursome, onion soup was also very hearty, sausages were enjoyable and the winner from all would be the mashed potato, it was very silky smooth, right texture and right flavour.  I could just have it on its own.

I actually want to recommend this place to anyone who'll be around there.  However, unfortunately I could not remember the name of this restaurant nor the address.  But what I'm sure is it's located not too far from Lourve, just probably about 10 minutes walk and right in the corner of so many international restaurant next to it.

Europe Part 7: Heading To Belgium With Thalys

Very early in the morning, we catch taxi to Paris train station called Gare Du Nord.  Jump into Thalys train to Brussels.  The train journey takes about one hour and ten minutes.  In this advance and modern city like Paris, everything is easy to find, all information is adequately provided for tourists.  We got there pretty early as we can chill out and had some breakfast before we departed.  However, there is mini bar inside the carriage as well, in case if you don't have time to buy some food before get in to the train.  By the way, we only do a day trip to Brussels this time, which I think it is so doable.
