Dubai Part 2: One Day In Dubai

Dubai Part 1: Warwick Hotel, Dubai

Dubai Mall

Dubai mall is the second largest shopping mall opening in retail history behind West Edmonton Mall. With about 1,200 shops trading inside the mall, although we spent time nearly 5 hours in there, still cannot cover the whole thing.  So so enormous.  Dubai Aquarium, Ice rink, Dubai Dinosour and an excess to Burj Khalifa, they are all here in one place.  Plus Dubai fountain, which is set to light and music performances that is visible from every point on the lake promenade and some shops.  Performances take place at 1:00pm and 1:30pm also every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm on weekdays, and from 6pm-11pm on weekends.

It was too hot waiting outside around the promenade, therefore we got in to one of the Japanese restaurant on the second floor.  Nicely seated by the window waiting to watch the fountain while having some lunch too.  We waited and waited, the water doesn't even make any movements, until we finished our lunch.  By then it was nearly 2pm, the waitress then mention that in some occasion, they will actually cancel the fountain show.  What a shame!!!!

If you are a sweet lover like me, you will definitely gone mad with all the sweets here.  Plenty to choose from, European desserts like cakes, chocolate, ice creams or more toward middle east where they have petite sweets made from marzipan that beautifully handcrafted, dates that covered with chocolate and so on.

Most of the shops are stylish, elegant and quite luxury decorated.  I really don't know where to begin honestly.

Dubai Part 1: Warwick Hotel, Dubai

Hello, catching up again with me.  This time is a trip to Europe.  I can't really say Europe actually because we only will cover 3 countries which are France, Spain and Belgium.  As we are flying with Emirates airline, the journey will break down in the middle way which is a short stop over in Dubai.  Flying from Bangkok to Dubai is taking around 6 and half hours.  We were on the Airbus 380, the seats has so much leg room and lucky us the plane wasn't in full capacity so we can maximize the seats.  Not only that kind and great services they provided, they also give lots of compliments blanket and toys for kids.  So enjoy flying with them.

The hotel is located rite opposite the main road (16 lanes road), therefore it is a little bit inconvenient to walk around by foot.  It is, for my opinion, more likely for a business traveller as it is situated in the business district.  However, not a big problem for us as we easily can find taxi to take us anywhere.

The hotel is clean and the room is pretty enormous complete with huge living room, bathroom and another separate toilet.

Vietnam Part 7: Halong Bay Part 5 (Dinner on Board)

Previously:
Vietnam Part 6: Halong Bay Part 4 (Activities With Paradise Cruise)

Dinner tonight is included in our cruise package, a fine 3-courses dining.  Everyone were actually joining in the main dining area.  However, my son was pretty unwell at that time, so we requested an in-room dining that night.  The manager allowed and even help us to find medicine for my kid.  What a great service from them.

The starters are choices between foie gras or seafood chowder.  Then they have grilled fish or steak for main.  Lastly, tiramisu for dessert.  As we were celebrating my birthday there, they nicely prepared small birthday cake for me as well at the end of the meal.

The next morning we have another buffet breakfast with their sugnature 'pho beef' in the menu.  After finishing our breakfast, just in time to depart from our cruise back at the same wharft where we came from.  And the private pick up was waiting to take us back to our hotel for the last night in Hanoi.
