Vietnam Day 5: From Hue To Hoi An And Sincerity Hotel, Hoi An

Vietnam Day 4 (Part 2): Last Night In Hue - Food Only

From Hue to Hoi An, instead of flying there, the road trip is apparently the more famous journey that most people take.  Although it seems so long (7 hours on the road) but it is a journey itself.  With around 3 or 4 destinations to cover, such as Lang Co beach, Hai Van Pass and Marble Mountain.  Leaving at about 8 in the morning, picked up from our hotel.  We booked the private one so only the two of us with the driver.  The benefit of private car is that you can stop anytime to take photos as per our driver's recommendation.

We arrived at the hotel around 2pm.  That's actually pretty good trip and we still have some time to chilling out before heading to the town in the evening.

Our hotel in Vietnam is getting better day by day.  From backpacker hostel-like in Ho Chi Minh then now we are at Sincerity Hotel in Hoi An, which is pretty new hotel.  Very nice and modern with a great and friendly customer service also free shuttle bus to the town and beach.  Although the location is not right in the center of historic town neither beach but it only takes about 30 minutes walk or there is also bicycle to borrow.

We used Hue Private Car Company: $59/car

Vietnam Day 4: The Citadel (Hue Imperial City) And Up Cafe, Hue

Banh Mi with mixed pork and egg on the street 40,000VND
I personally think that this random banh mi from somewhere in Hue taste much yummier than the one in Anthony Bourdain show.  That sweet pork was abolutely winner.

Along the perfume river at night, it turns to be a walking street with some local snacks to be devoured.  With a nice atmosphere and cool weather, what more can I asked.

Vietnam Day 4: The Citadel (Hue Imperial City) And Up Cafe, Hue

Vietnam Day 3 (Part 2): Hue City And Dong Ba Market

After having our breakfast at the hotel, we walked to Citadel (Imperial City).  Again we prefer to walk instead of catching cyclo.  Although so many of them offering only $2 ride to Citadel but according to so many stories about cheating cyclo driver and our own bad experience with Vietnam taxi previously, we were comfortably doing this way.  It wasn't that far anyway just crossing the Perfume River and turn left instead of turn right like we took yesterday to Dong Ba Market.

Entry fee to Citadel is 150,000VND without guide

On the way back we stopped at UP café. It looks very modern in this heritage town.  And it was just newly opened couple days ago.  We only had some drinks then for our lunch, we chose some local restaurant not far from our hotel.  The restaurant namely, Phuong Nam Café, serve homey dishes with cheap price and big portion and more importantly it was clean.
