Chocolate Ville, Bangkok

If you love taking pictures and enjoy eating good food.  This place is definitely perfect for you.  Chocolate Ville is a total package, you can find great dishes and their decorations and photo spots are absolutely pretty and instagrammable.

You can find great ranges food from Thai to Western dishes in their menu.  So, it would suit everyone taste-bud.  And they are all pretty decent in taste as well.  Dining area is very spacious but do come early to get the best table by the water I suggest because around 6pm they would have their bear mascot waving hand to everyone from a boat.  This place opens daily from 3pm and a little earlier on weekends and they close at midnight.  So, Octie Appetie all ...

Thong Smith Mega Bangna Restaurant

When you heard of boat noodle, you might imagine of a dish that served from boats or simply a street food dish.  Thong Smith had elevated boat noodle as a luxurious dish.  It is like a Louis Vuitton version of boat noodle class.  Thong Smith has been established not long ago, in 2019 and it was very boomed at that time and yet still very popular now.

They use premium quality meats like kurobuta pork and wagyu beef.  Although it will cost you around 200-500 baht per bowl, but it is totally understandable as we really get what we're paying for.

We picked the most expensive dish from their menu which is a boat noodle soup that comes with sliced Australian wagyu ribeye, beef balls, braised shank and tendon.  OMG!!! The meat was super super tender and their soup is to die for.  Thicker than any noodle boat I've tried and full of flavour.  It was totally divine.  Don't forget to get some pork cracklings for toppings as well.  They are 20 THB each.  Noodle boat also comes in dry form, some people prefer that.

Sliced Australian wagyu ribeye with beef balls, braised shank and tendon 529THB (around $23.20)

Huge slice of beef, longer than my palm

On top of that, they have rice menus and side dishes that are pretty good to give them a go.

The restaurant that we went to was in Mega Bangna mall, but there are a few branches around Bangkok, such as in Central World, Central Embassy, Sukhumvit, and so on.  Octie Appetie...

Premium Sushi & Seafood Buffet Dinner at The Emerald Coffee Shop, Bangkok

I've never seen these much premium sushi served in one buffet sitting.  By the way, this is only one zone of many seafood and other hot food items, from Thai to Japanese even Western cuisine in their buffet range.  They also have traditional Thai desserts to jelly and mousse to end your meal in high note.  Isn't it great!!!!  And on top of that, this buffet dinner has no time limit.  Still not catchy enough? No problem, there are surely more.. Such as, you can get unlimited sodas and above all, this buffet dinner comes with only 999 Baht net per person.  It won't break your bank and it definetely is cheaper than dine in a high-end Japanese sushi restaurant.  Want to know where?  'The One' of The premium sushi and seafood buffet dinner can be found in The Emerald Coffee Shop inside Emerald Hotel Bangkok.

This buffet is avaiable only for dinner from 6-10 pm everyday (however, as far as I know, it is for a limited period of time in a year, correct me if I wrong).  Reservation is highly recommended.  If you check out their Facebook page, they also launch this 'stay and dine' promotion as well, these deals are so worth it.  However, at least 7 days in advance is needed to book this promotion.

I didn't take so much pictures of food and ambiance, hmmmmm...  actually I terribly forgot because I was too excited with all the food.  If you want to see more pictures about this buffet, please go and check from other bloggers that have checked-in The Emerald Coffee Shop.  Guarantee mouth-watering.

With Foei gras sushi, seafood basket and some other dishes, you need to use this table number cards placed in each table to made an order.  then when the food is ready, a nice waiter or waitress will take the food right to your table.

About the food here, their sushi were pretty good.  The portion between fish and rice in an individual nigiri was balanced, actually the rice ball was quite smaller than I thought it would be, it is good though.  Generous amount of sauce is given on sushi too.  What's more, those raw salmon and tuna were super fresh.  However, I found that their rice was slightly too dry and salmon was generally over-cooked.  I didn't get to try much of other items.  I only reserved my tummy for mainly foie gras and sweets.

Their desserts, that I got to try were pretty much mediocre but I definitely like that chocolate fondue and ice creams.  In spite of that, I really appreciate their efforts in putting so many ranges of different food to accomodate many tongues yet when they promise us with premium sushi and seafood, they really spot on with that.

Jamie's Italian Bangkok

Crunchy Italian Nachos 220฿
This dish is a little different than an ordinary nachos.  Instead of corn chips, they use ravioli sheets stuffed with three type of cheese', mozzarella, ricotta and parmesan.  They then deep fried into golden crispy puff and served with spicy Sicilian tomato sauce on the side.  Love the idea and definitely love the taste of this dish.

Crispy squid 280฿
Fresh squid deep fried with chilli, garlic and parsley seasoning.  It is also accompanied with delicious creamy garlic mayo for dipping.

Funghi pizza 340฿
Thin base gourmet pizza topped with Porcini mushroom sauce, roasted herby mushrooms, mozzarella, cracked black pepper and lemon zest. It is a vegetarian dish, so nice and healthy.

Grilled pork chop 620฿
A huge piece of sloan's free range pork that had been marinated and cooked under a brick.  It also served with parsley bagna cauda, apple, lemon and kohlrabi.

Our famous prawn linguine 390฿
Al-dente pasta served with garlic prawn, tomatoes, fennel, saffron, fresh chilli and finished with rocket leaves on top.

Carbonara spaghetti
I always love a classic carbonara spaghetti but this dish let me down.  They have a nice creaminess, although slightly too slimy when the dish gets cold.  It was also lack of flavour.  Hmmmm..  I wasn't that happy with this dish.

Ultimate plank 1,590฿
This signature antipasto consists of fennel salami, mortadella, prosciutto, chicken liver pate, wagyu bresaola, and pork scratchings with grissini and music bread, Italian nachos, tomato and ricotta crostini, mini mozzarella, aged pecorino and chilli jam, olives and pickles, grilled marinated peppers and rainbow slaw.  So many thing was going on this long board and enough to feed around 4 to 6 people.  However, is it worth the value of money?  Probably not.  Unless you really into antipasto thingy.

From left: Panna cotta 220฿, chocolate fudge sundae 240฿, tiramisu 240฿
We all know tiramisu, the classic Italian dessert and the most I was looking forward to.  However, it turned out the least yummy out of three desserts.  It has a grainy texture and the coffee mascarpone was pretty average.  So disappointed, I think tiramisu in wollies still tastes better.  Panna cotta was surely sit on top of the chart with silky smooth consistent and fresh berry compote to balance the entire dish.  And in the middle was the chocolate fudge cake served with salted caramel ice cream and caramelized popcorn.  Salted caramel and chocolate, two elements that can not go wrong together.  It was a great dish.

For dipping sauce: garlic, chilli, soy sauce and lemon juice

Ta daa... My heavenly sauce mix, to bring my grilled meat to the next level

Cabbage, Garlic Rice and Miso Soup

Variety types of Pork, Beef, and Chicken

3 serves of beef
You can order a few serves of same type of meat at one go to save the waiting time and they will bring it together on the bigger serving plate.  The meat here was very fresh, I could taste.  And marbling, so it is still very soft and tender after I cooked it.

Salmon sashimi

When I mention how extremely fresh the food here, is shown where these huge-size prawns still moving and jumping on my hot iron grill.  However, I did not have a chance to taste this glory as my brother-in-law felt it too brutal to grill the still-live prawns and he decided to return this plate of prawns. What a shame!!!!
