Swiss Valley Hip Resort, Suan Phueng

Previously:

Wow, Swiss Valley Hip Resort!!! What can I say!!!  It is a great resort.  The most luxury around the area according to many reviews and my own experience.  Once you enter the front gate, it was like a journey itself.  The entrance leads you to the huge lawn, on the left hand side they have a vineyard while on the other side is an open lawn with free-running horses.

When we arrived at the car park, there was a buggy waiting for us to take us to the reception area.  This place is definitely suit for family and kids.  Most of the people who come to Suan Phueng and stay else where, they normally need visit the Scenery Vintage Farm.  But if you stay in Swiss Valley Hip Resort, you will have your own farm to run around, horse to ride on and sheep to feed.  It is inclusively privilege only for people who stay here.

on the left is our home for tonight
The room is so spacious, I didn't expect it will be this huge though.  More like a house, I'd say.  Complete with small pantry-like without stove, big bathroom, bathtub in the middle of the room, and unused fire place in the corner.  And the roof top relaxing and barbeque area on the second floor.

Each house has different style and size.  Some even comes with a private swimming pool.

There are dolls everywhere that you can play with but not allow to take home.  It's keeping my son busy for awhile.  They also gave us complimentary hats. (as picture above)

Feeding fish

Small vineyard

Swimming pool
This place is very good to visit in the winter season.  With the farm-theme parks in the area, it will be too hot in summer time.  However, the negative side is we could not swim as the water is too cold.

Instead, we do soaking in our own bathtub

Pad thai goong
I'm always into in-room dining.  I like the feeling of having a nice meal in our pajama.  Great thing to do before end the night.

Deep fried sun-dried pork

Creamy pumpkin soup

Blueberry yogurt smoothie
This was the best smoothie I ever had.  Quite big statement but it was true.  Since then I keep trying this drink in any shops but none can beat from this resort.

Royal Good View Restaurant, Suan Phueng

Previously:

We had our lunch at one of the well-known steak restaurant in Suan Phueng, in Royal Good View Resort & Farm.  Once we had ordered the food, me and my son spent some time in the farm while waiting for the food.  Fed the hungry sheep and took some nice pictures around the farm.

Sizzling corn

Fermented sausage fried rice

Pork chop steak

Deep fried battered mushroom

Deep fried lemongrass chicken
The food here was pretty good, but those deep fried lemongrass chicken are absolutely winner.  The fragrant smell of lemongrass, crisp yet succulent inside of chicken then topped with crispy shredded lemongrass was totally finger-licking good.

Eden Garden Resort, Suan Phueng

Previously:

The first night in Suan Phueng, we stayed a little outskirt from the town.  However, Suan Phueng city is not so big; so to get from one point to the others is not that far at all.  We stayed at Eden Garden Resort for a night.  To enjoy the beauty of nature and adsorb as much fresh oxygen as we could.  The room is pretty simple and the next day breakie was an ordinary buffet breakfast.  But the cool morning breeze was a top knot.

Things To Do In Suan Phueng

Ratchaburi Mitr Pol FC

Suan Phueng is part of Ratchaburi province, which takes less than two hours drive from Bangkok.  Apart from a handful of themed destination resorts, Suan Phueng has a few other interesting natural attractions and theme parks.

Baan hom tien (candle house)
A place where they transform a boring normal candles into something attractive and creative.  Everything candle imaginable.  From a giant duck candle to a cup of beer cable.  Although you're not willing to buy any candles, but it is kinda a great experience to see those creative and imaginative ideas.

Jamie's Italian Bangkok

Crunchy Italian Nachos 220฿
This dish is a little different than an ordinary nachos.  Instead of corn chips, they use ravioli sheets stuffed with three type of cheese', mozzarella, ricotta and parmesan.  They then deep fried into golden crispy puff and served with spicy Sicilian tomato sauce on the side.  Love the idea and definitely love the taste of this dish.

Crispy squid 280฿
Fresh squid deep fried with chilli, garlic and parsley seasoning.  It is also accompanied with delicious creamy garlic mayo for dipping.

Funghi pizza 340฿
Thin base gourmet pizza topped with Porcini mushroom sauce, roasted herby mushrooms, mozzarella, cracked black pepper and lemon zest. It is a vegetarian dish, so nice and healthy.

Grilled pork chop 620฿
A huge piece of sloan's free range pork that had been marinated and cooked under a brick.  It also served with parsley bagna cauda, apple, lemon and kohlrabi.

Our famous prawn linguine 390฿
Al-dente pasta served with garlic prawn, tomatoes, fennel, saffron, fresh chilli and finished with rocket leaves on top.

Carbonara spaghetti
I always love a classic carbonara spaghetti but this dish let me down.  They have a nice creaminess, although slightly too slimy when the dish gets cold.  It was also lack of flavour.  Hmmmm..  I wasn't that happy with this dish.

Ultimate plank 1,590฿
This signature antipasto consists of fennel salami, mortadella, prosciutto, chicken liver pate, wagyu bresaola, and pork scratchings with grissini and music bread, Italian nachos, tomato and ricotta crostini, mini mozzarella, aged pecorino and chilli jam, olives and pickles, grilled marinated peppers and rainbow slaw.  So many thing was going on this long board and enough to feed around 4 to 6 people.  However, is it worth the value of money?  Probably not.  Unless you really into antipasto thingy.

From left: Panna cotta 220฿, chocolate fudge sundae 240฿, tiramisu 240฿
We all know tiramisu, the classic Italian dessert and the most I was looking forward to.  However, it turned out the least yummy out of three desserts.  It has a grainy texture and the coffee mascarpone was pretty average.  So disappointed, I think tiramisu in wollies still tastes better.  Panna cotta was surely sit on top of the chart with silky smooth consistent and fresh berry compote to balance the entire dish.  And in the middle was the chocolate fudge cake served with salted caramel ice cream and caramelized popcorn.  Salted caramel and chocolate, two elements that can not go wrong together.  It was a great dish.
