Day 4 of Northern Thai Trip (part 2): Khum Khantoke, Chiang Mai

Day 4 of Northern Thai Trip: Cook With Love, second time here!!

Khantoke dinner is basically sampling the traditional northern thai food while watching the Lanna cultural show.  There are a few companies that do so, but we always go for Khum Khantoke.  Friendly service, nice food and great show.  However, we need to make a reservation in advance, then arrive early on the day to pick up and pay for the ticket.  The show and dinner will last about 2 hours in total.

Day 3 of Northern Thai Trip: Maesa Elephant Camp

Day 2 of Northern Thai Trip (Part 2): Amora Tapae Hotel Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai Night Bazaar

Maesa Elephant is the largest elephant's home in Northern Thailand, in here elephants have been looking after very well.  With one mahout(trainer) for each elephant.  There is also a nursery for the elephants with high fertility rate, which is a good sign that the elephants are mentally and socially healthy.  For me, the elephants here look the happiest among any elephant camps that I have ever been before.  You can see when the mahouts take elephants to take a bath, elephant painting, dancing and also elephant riding.

By the way, there are a few ladies standing a few meters away from them at the downstream picking up elephant's poops.  So, no worries the river is clean.

Day 2 of Northern Thai Trip: Charin Garden Resort and Wat Doi Suthep

I always love Chiang Mai, the cute cafés, beautiful view, nice weather and their lay back lifestyles.  However, you will not get this peaceful and quite atmosphere around new year holiday period.  It seems like all Thais and foreigners are poured down into this town, running away from Bangkok.  Heaps and heaps of people, especially in the night bazaar, we hardly can move nor browsing at the stalls.  I definitely prefer to be here on normal day.
