Kanom Jeen Liew, Phuket

Kanom Jeen dish is a Southern style Thai rice noodle that normally served with different type of curries.  According to locals, one of the popular restaurants selling kanom jeen is this Kanom Jeen Jae Liew.  This place was originally selling bak chang or stuffed glutinous rice, before turning into kanom jeen.  But I'm glad they did.  Their green curry and crab curry are delicious especially their deep fried pork and kian tod are second to none.  Very convenient with quite a few car park spots at the back of the restaurant and it is located not so far from Phuket airport as well.

The portion is not so big but they give lots of meat and sauce that is simply what we needed.  Beside delicious kanom jeen, they really make great fried dishes as well like deep fried pork and kian tod or deep fried kian.

Moo tod or deep fried pork 70 baht

Rice with fried pork 60 Baht

Kian tod 120 Baht

This is an ultimate dish in the house.  Kian tod is basically a type of sausage filled with minced pork and minced prawn.  It tastes a little bit peppery.  But what make them different is the casing.  They use caul fat or fat netting to wrap the filling before then deep fried until golden and crispy.  It was soooo goood with or without chili dipping sauce.
