When I first heard about Club Med, I was not sold on this. My husband who used to be part of Club Med family finally convinced me to go to Club Med. The first place we visited was Club Med Bali. It completely blew my mind away and now I become a Club Meder (is there such a word? 😉). After that, I have been to Club Med Maldives and this time since we were coming back to Thailand, we included Club Med Phuket as part of our itinerary. We stayed there for four days three nights. So, keep reading and Octie Appetie all ...
For those who never been to Club Med, the first thought that comes to people mind would be why the price is so expensive for not even a five-star resort. I totally understand. Yes, because that was me before. But ... But with the perks they offer, they are incomparable. Let me go through one by one. This place is all inclusive. Yeah, you heard it right. The price you pay is covering all meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner and all snacks. Not only that, all day drinks, this includes non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are included. Basically, once you get in, you can to NOT spend a single more cents for any meals and activities while in the resort. Still not convincing enough, next reason of staying here is there are plenty free activities to do inside the resort, but it depends on the resort. For somewhere hot and tropical like here in Phuket, they normally have tennis, flying trapeze, archery, wall climbing, ping pong and more. Everyday GO will arrange some fun events for adult or kids or even for families, for example foam party, giant bubble making, glow face painting and so on. Of course, there are other paid activities or excursions like snorkelling or scuba diving available too.
You can also freely participate in sport competitions with small prize given for the winner. The easiest way to keep track of all activities and competitions is to download their apps. All information is there. If these perks still couldn't buy you, feel free to scroll through pictures from my posts about Club Med and maybe, just maybe it will make you turn into a Club Meder 😁.
One more thing, Club Med Phuket itself is situated in a strategic location, just a few minutes away from convenient stores, near a night market and by the pristine and beautiful Kata beach. It isn't a private beach access but I would say more like semi-private because in the beach, I found, there are mainly club med guests and just a few guests from nearby hotels.
Oh and yes... they have this kids club as well. I will go into more details on my later post. So, parents with kids WATCH OUT!!! You may book this place right after finish reading.
They have a very high security. No outsider is allowed to pass this main gate. Even to go in and out the resort, you will need to sign-in/out providing your room number and time in and out.
Welcome drink with nice cold towels |
Once arrived, one of the GOs will come and greet us. They then briefly explained how Club Med works and other general information needed to be around the resort before handling us the key and taking us to our very own room. By the way, Club Med charge customer per person per night. So, even my youngest is only four years old, we need to pay child price but then she will get her own bed too. Thus, for the four of us, normally in any hotels, we will only book for one room with an extra bed. But in Club Med, it is automatically that we get two rooms.
With the room, it is pretty efficient, they have all the basics that we need. It is quite spacious and clean as well.

All day bar - where you get your refreshing drinks and free popcorns |
This is a surprise drink recipe. Her name is Gift and she named it 'Gift for you' drink |
Another restaurant is catered for a fine dining style dinner (No extra cost - but advance booking is needed).
I will talk more about the kids club and activities in my next post. Thank you for reading lovely readers..
Stay tuned for the next blog still in Club Med Phuket:
