Airport Lounge in Shanghai

Previously:

Before our plane departed, we enjoyed a few more Chinese meals at the Airport lounge in Shanghai.  Not many choices but they were spotted on.  Soup noodle was warming and tasty.  Both red bean soup and beef with carrot soup were surprisingly delicious too.  They are simple but tasted great.  They have a huge dining space.  Of course, being Asian, food is always number one.

Thank you for reading my Shanghai and Suzhou posts.  This has now come to an end.  The trip happened during the New Years break.  However, it takes me a little longer to post them.  Let see you all again in my next journey.  Take care all 💖

Hangzhou

Previously:

We did a day trip to Hangzhou during our stay in Suzhou.  As I mentioned previously that we booked a van and driver included to travel around for convenient purposes as we travelled in a big group and we have young kids and elderly too.  But to be honest, if you can catch a train, please do so.  It would take faster because going on the road, traffic in town was so bad.  It took 2 and half hour to arrive.  So, we didn't have much time left wandering around the town.  We've got to visit the Pagoda and Xi Lake then had late lunch at one of the shopping malls.

We have just found out that most of restaurants here in China they close during the afternoon break after lunch time and re-open for dinner.  We were there like 3pm and could not find anything to eat while we were so starving.  Then we spotted this restaurant that similar to three-choices type of shop in most of food court in Sydney.  They have a few dishes ready on a hot bar.  This is definitely what we needed as our tummy was rumbling so badly, no need for us to like order food and wait for them to cook which will take 20 minutes easily until we can eat the food.

"Don't order food while you're hungry", this idiom is so true in this situation.  Between us 2 families, we gone crazy and ended up with 13 or 15 small dishes.  But no regret because every single dish was absolutely delicious.  Cheap and convenient.  Turned out to be one of the meals to remember while we're in China.

I bet you all know Heytea.  There are some branches in Sydney too, but we never have gotten to try it.  We vowed that we have to try this in the birth country.  But we made mistake the queue here was even longer and took us more than half an hour to get our drink.  We sound stupid yeah!!!!  They were quite a few people in the shop, we didn't think that would be too long.  Unknowingly, lots of order come from uber, so deceiving.  Anyway, lucky their drinks were refreshing and totally satisfying.

Breakfast at Pan Pacific Suzhou

Previously:

I won't say much here.  Photos would be loud enough.  The only thing that I would say is their food were so amazing.  Very very yummm and great range of choices from Chinese to Western dishes.  They are too many, I don't think I tried everything but what I had were all delicious.  The one still linger in my mouth is that Su dim sum, the sweet purple sticky rice.  This thing changed my perception toward Su dim sum when I didn't get the good one from the market last time.  Also, I like to arrange a set of hot congee with condiments for my morning meal.  Hope all these will make you hungry and I see you again in my next post.

Pan Pacific Hotel, Suzhou

Previously:

This is where we stayed in Suzhou for two nights. The hotel is sooo stunning and beautifully presented.  Feel like they're taking us back to Ancient China period, where I am the empress residing in a luxurious palace and surrounded by a tranquil garden.  However, the room itself is completely opposite.  It is very modern and not so much Chinese touch inside the room.  Not a bad thing though, because the room is so huge and so clean.  My brother-in-law actually got a room where it was decorated fully for kids, complete with a tent and toys.

Located right next to the historical landmark in one side and contemporary business district on the other side. We have the privilege access from the back door to the Ancient town.  However, we stayed during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day so they closed the gate early on that day.

Not forget to mention, their breakfast choices were superabundant and delicious too.  Pictures of them will be in my next post so please stay tuned.  Overall, we had an amazing stay in this hotel.
