Tonight, we went to the famous Lau Pa Sat. This unique hawker center houses so many authentic Singaporian cuisines. This place is also known as Telok Ayer Market, historical buildings can be found here, right in the central area of Singapore along with delicious local to international food. Also, after 7pm everyday, this Boon Tat street at Lau Pa Sat closes and it turns into a huge dining area. By the way, the dish you must try in here is, of course, satay. They are quite a few stalls selling satay. Some were busier than the other. I walked past this Satay 8 and the queue was so long. It must be yummy, I guess. But we came with small children and it was pretty inconvinient to wait. That's why we bought from the one less busy yet looks equally good too, the one right at the end of the road. With that, we actually still waited about 30 minutes until our satay has arrived.

One stick of satay roughly costs SGD 0.80. We ordered chicken, tribe and mutton satay with some lontong (or steamed rice cake) S$1/each. All together was S$26. So, the price is pretty decent though. Taste-wise, it was good, the meat was tender and I like the smokey and charred-smell from those satay. But their sauce was just ordinary. Above all, I really like their mutton satay, not gamey at all.

We got these two of my favorite snacks, angku kueh and lapis legit from Bengawan Solo shop at the airport.
Stay tuned for the next blog still in Singapore:
