Prahran Market & Misty's Diner, Melbourne (Day1, part2)

Japanese $ shop (similar like 100 yen shop in Japan) just right opposite the Prahran market.  They sell all sorts of Japanese snacks to kitchenwares and lots more.  We all know how Japanese stuff is, rite!!!  They're all cute and adorable.  It's so hard to resist the temptation but for this time I have too since my luggage is too small to fit all of them back home.  Just wondering, as I've never seen this kind of Japanese shop in Sydney, do we actually have one???

Prahran market is like a smaller version of Queen Victoria market on Franklin Street, Melbourne.  They nearly have everything that QV market have range from fresh fruits and vegetables, organic products and outdoor food court.

We already got the mission to eat at Misty's Diner, is A-MUST as we missed it last time when we were here.  Apparently, the reviews for this American diner are very positive and it is kinda shame if we not visit this famed restaurant....  So, I can't really tell what the food like there in Prahran Market cos we didn't try anything there, we save up our belly for the bigger and better feast in Misty's.

Here we are at Mist's Diner, a very 60th and oh-so-American like diner's decor complete with Elvis photos and a classical juke box.  Not only the food here is full on American style but the ambiance too, make you feel like you are actually sitting in one of the cafe in L.A..

Vanilla Thickshake
On the drink lists, they have these all interesting flavoured shakes like Reese chocolate and Oreo shakes but didn't know what was going on in my mind, weirdly I felt like something less fancy at that time, sooo not me!!!!!  (which I regretted now). Or probably, I just can't decide between those 2 of my favourite flavoured drink so I picked an ordinary vanilla thickshake which pretty good too but was disappointed when it didn't served in the usual shaker tin as I'd expected.

Junk Yard Fries $17.90
The name is really suited this dish.  A big serving dish full with fries and topped with 4 different topping to satisfied our tastebud and hunger.  The toppings are taco meat, gravy, con quesco sauce, and chilli con carne.  Each of the topping offers its different unique taste but the simple fries with gravy appears to be the best for me.

Stuffed Potato Skins $16.90
The ordinary potato skins that we normally have in Sydney, usually comes with bacon so this time we just wanna try something different.  In here, they can do crispy potato skin topped with taco and sour cream with heaps of shredded cheese sprinkled on top to finish it off.  I can't imagine how many calories we gonna put on by the end of this meal.  By the way we don't feel guilty at all!!

Misty's American Style Burger $14.90
Finally the hero has come to our table, the burger was SUPER huge and massive.  A tower of soft bun with enormous patty, cheese, bacon, lettuce, caramelised onions, egg and pickle on the side also loaded with classic sauce !!!  You kinda need two hands or a help from the fork to handle this Hercules burger and plzz open the biggest jaw ever to take a bite of all components in one go.  This is what a truly burger should be.

Hey!!  We got a chance to meet Misty herself, a sweet and bubbly owner.

  1. Those are some of the most generous servings I have ever seen outside of the USA. What a fun place to dine. I'd love one of those vanilla thickshakes right now!
