Melbourne City - Day 1 (Part 1)

Just wanna share with you guys about our short trip to Melbourne last year. For sure, It's not gonna have a complete information for the food wise. So many missing things like the address or the exact prices because I wasn't doing blog back then.

Despite for all those excuses above, hope you guys still enjoy this blog. So Octie Appetie...

We were supposed to fly with Jetstar but the flight was cancelled without any notice and we just found out when we about to check in. But instead they re-arranged the flight with Qantas. Eventhough it was delayed for nearly 2 hours but lucky we got the breakfast on the plane.

Yellow taxis in Melbourne

Cube Serviced Apartments (It's now called Fraser Place Melbourne)
19 Exploration Lane
Melbourne, VIC Australia

Studio Apartment
It is located in the heart of Melbourne CBD and close to the free city circle tram stops which just right on the main road  (La Trobe Street) end of Exploration Lane. It's also only a short walk to a famous Lygon Street and busy Chinatown. The concierge was really friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfy so we were totally enjoyed staying there and it worthed the penny as well.

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Crepe
Just a random crepes stall somewhere around Bourke street.

Before we went to Queen Victoria Market, we walked pass this little Asian restaurant on the way. It looked very nice and busy at lunch time. But we still stick to our plan going to the market first, after awhile there we couldn't attract to any meal for our lunch cos our mind keep lingering and flashing back to that small Malaysian resto. So we decided to fulfil our craving there. They actually have 2 restaurants on the same block of street that only few shops apart from each other. One with bigger dining space but the smaller one got the kitchen (probably the main and first established one, I guess) cos I notice that the waitress keep on delivering the food from one shop to another.

Har Mee (Prawn Noodle Soup)

Wonton and BBQ Pork Noodle

Left: 3 layered Milk Tea and Right: Cane Juice
The food was alright and quite authentic in a way with relatively good price, I would say.. but the service was quite slow. Our first dish actually came reasonably quick but the fried noodle didn't come until another 15 minutes and when we asked for it, they just said "Yeah.. it's coming", without explaining anything further, we could understand if they forget or something but plz!! Attitude...

Melbourne Central

The best thing about Melbourne is that they have the free city circle tram that runs pretty frequently, every 12 minutes from 10 am - 6 pm from Sunday to Wednesday with extended hours to 9 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is a free service and also convenient way to travel around Melbourne CBD. To catch this free City Circle Tram service (route number 35), simply hop on and hop off the tram at any of the specially marked stops on the route.
