Europe Part 3: Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysees

Previously:
Europe Part 2: Eiffel Tower and Nearby

Today, we start the day fresh and we are ready heading up to one of the most busiest street in Paris called Avenue Des Champs-Elysees.  First of all, from the hotel we walk to Bir Hakeim metro station and bought the day pass (6.80 Euro covered for mobilis zone 1 - 2).  From there me made our way to Arc De Triomphe stop.

Arc de Triomphe

Not only branded stuffs that you can get from here, this avenue lays heaps of cafes and restaurants as well.  Some of them are pretty tacky and pricey as this area is highly packed with tourists, however it is at least good to try one of them though.

Escargots de "la butte" 12 Euro (6 pcs)

Foie Gras 22 Euro

Duck Confit

Creme Brulee

Good food, nice ambiance, clean place, slightly pricey but what are we damning about, this is Champs-Elysees for God shake, we hardly can find any cheaper than this for a nice cafe.  However, the service wasn't up to standard, enough waiters were standing by in front of the door but they are not attentive to the customers who were actually inside the restaurant.

Europe Part 2: Eiffel Tower and Nearby

Europe Part 1: Hello Paris and Welcome To Novotel Tour Eiffel Hotel

Buffet breakfast in hotel

We spend our afternoon just strolling around town, especially around that gorgeous Eiffel Tower.  Having some local nutella crepes and sausage rolls just under this huge tower made my day even more complete.  With the river nearby, there are so many things to see, so beautiful.

Nutella crepes 11.50 Euro - yummy just like I expected

After 6pm onwards, Eiffel turns into glittery tower in time to time.

The finale from my 'Grand slam' pictures collection
I tried to take lots of photos from every angle of Eiffel and there is one of my grand slam shoot that I took and of course I have inserted in this blog just showing off (above).

Italian restaurant inside Marc &Spencer Shopping Centre

We chose this Italian restaurant inside Marc & Spencer shopping centre as it is located just next door to our hotel.  Convenient after a long day and the food was pretty good too.

Europe Part 1: Hello Paris and Welcome to Novotel Tour Eiffel Hotel

What a dream come true, finally after a long 7 hours flight from Dubai, we have landed in this charming city, the priority destination of so many couples.  However, as we are coming with the whole family and 2 little monster kids, it will probably be less romantic and I won't provide the complete review in this blog.  So, let's begin exploring this romantic and enchanted town.

WOW.. just a glimpse of Eiffel Tower, makes me happy

Reception

In these few nights in Paris, we will stay at Novotel Tour Eiffel, which is located only about 15 minutes walk from hotel to Eiffel tower and we also can see the tower view from our hotel.  Very convenient and the room was clean and spacious, plus those receptionist were extremely friendly and helpful.

Dubai Part 3: Gold Souk

Previously:
Dubai Part 2: One Day In Dubai

Another spot to not be missed here in Dubai is this original Gold Souk (Souk means market).  Shops after shops are selling gold.  They display all gold like not afraid of thieves.  I have never ever seen this much gold before, whether at Nathan road Hong kong or Yaowarat (Chinatown in Bangkok), where they actually famous with gold shops lining up on the street.  However, here in Gold Souk Dubai, their gold or jewelry are truly massive, I can't imagine who will actually wear those kind of jewelry.  If you guys are coming here and planning to buy gold, is definitely worth it as the price is pretty standard and good quality of gold.
